Marlbrook Nursery, children are at the centre of everything that we do. We believe children learn best when they are interested, curious and deeply engaged, which at this stage of development, is best achieved through play.

In our setting, the adults observe and wait for a moment in which they feel they can make a difference. They interact to teach the next steps appropriate to the individual child. Each time the adults interact with a child, they are observing, assessing, planning for and responding to that individual child. The interactions are the most important and powerful teaching moments.

We are proud of the learning environment we have created. The children can choose to play inside or outside, with classroom doors remaining open. From day one, the children are supported to explore the environment to see what is available, to select the resources they would like, to use them appropriately and to tidy the area when they have finished. The timetable has been designed to give the children the maximum amount of ‘free flow’ time and our staff are always there to support the children in their activities.

Eligibility

Children are able to attend Marlbrook nursery class from the age of 3 years old.

Every child is entitled to 15 hours a week funded by the government.

Some working parents may be eligible for 30 hours a week funding.

At Marlbrook we offer 15 hour funded sessions every morning-

Monday to Friday 8.30am-11.30am or every afternoon-

Monday to Friday 12.30pm-3.30pm.

Children that have 30 hour funding attend all day - 8.30am -3.30pm.

These children bring a packed lunch to nursery.

We also have a lovely Stay and Play session for any children from birth to school age which is run by Mrs Cripps every Tuesday from 2pm - 3pm in Kids Club. We have a lovely range of toys for the children and a nice hot drink for the grown ups. We'd love to see you.
